If there ever was a time to consider switching to an electric vehicle, this is it. Fuel prices continue to hit record highs and the appeal of plugging in a luxury vehicle is increasing by the day, especially as automakers rise to the challenge.

For Jaguar, the I-PACE, an all-electric performance SUV, continues to reign as a leader in the EV space, particularly when it comes to quality. The British automaker has gone above and beyond to ensure that the I-PACE meets the same luxury standards as its traditional combustion engine counterparts. That means high-end finishings, a sleek silhouette and unmatched performance.

The four-door I-PACE was built with two electric motors that have been strategically placed at each axle for a smooth all-wheel-drive experience. It has a combined 394 horsepower and 512 lb-ft of torque, and can go 0-100 km/h in 4.8 seconds.

Inside, expect a spacious and airy design with good visibility and unmatched comfort along with handcrafted, high-quality finishings. The seats, which come in either Sport or Performance, are available in a variety of materials and colours, and are crafted with fine contrast twin-needle stitching to add yet another subtle layer of sophistication.

Jaguar has made a number of modifications to improve efficiencies and range, too, like Enhanced Brake Regeneration, which takes nearly all of the energy used when braking and redistributes it, as well as Electronic Air Suspension, an add-on that helps both the range and overall aerodynamics by automatically lowering the car when it reaches speeds of 105 km/h or greater.

The I-PACE has been outfitted with modern driver-assist features like emergency front braking, adaptive cruise control, speed limiter, lane-keep and blind-spot assist. The automaker has also simplified the way drivers find charging stations on the go by integrating the information into its dual-sim Pivi Pro infotainment system. With a few touches, the navigation system reveals nearby charging docks as well as the estimated amount of time it will take at each one. The I-PACE uses a 9.6 kW AC charger and a full charge takes about 10 hours.

When you're not behind the wheel, the Jaguar Remote app, which can be downloaded to a smartphone, will keep you up-to-date on the car's range status. The app shows the car's current charge, charge rate and charging status as well as the estimated range of the current charge.Canadian pricing for the I-PACE starts at $99,800 and you can learn more by visiting us at Jaguar Land Rover Waterloo.
